Preciptants

POLYTHIOCARBONATE BASED, SULFIDE BASED, CARBAMATE BASED, WHAT’S NEW?

WST precipitants are expressly formulated to precipitate metal ions from a wide variety of industrial process wastewaters and groundwaters.  Such wastewaters frequently contain chelants and other complexing agents that surround the metal ions and prevent the chemical reaction that converts the ions to insoluble particles.  WST precipitants chemically “break” such chelating/complexing rings surrounding metal ions thereby subjecting them to precipitating reactions.  To learn more about chemical precipitation, click on about chemical precipitation.

WST precipitants, briefly described below, include sulfide, carbamate and polythiocarbonate based products and proprietary blends thereof.  Additives are often blended with the basic precipitants to achieve maximum precipitating efficiency and to assist in the solids/liquid separation operations.

POLYTHIOCARBONATE BASED PRECIPITANTS: the following precipitants are formulated with our patented Thio-Red as the precipitating chemistry:

Thio-Red:  Basic polythiocarbonate organic compound that forms organo-metallic precipitates.
TR-5:   Blend with allied compounds and coagulant for mixed metals applications.
TR-6:   Blend with inorganic compounds and multiple coagulants for mixed metals applications.
TR-10:  Blend with DTC
TR-25:  A dilute blend of TR-50.
TR-36:  A dilute blend of TR-6
TR-50:  Blend with inorganic salt to provide increased precipitating activity capabilities.

SULFIDE BASED PRECIPITANTS:  the following precipitants are formulated with sodium sulfide as the precipitating chemistry:

SP-90X:  Blend of the basic inorganic compound with complementary coagulant.
SP-90D:  Deodorized version of SP-90X.
SP-PLUS: Blend of SP-90X with an organic compound to facilitate the precipitation of chelated Metals.
SPX:   A low-cost blend to supplement hydroxide precipitation.  (very similar to WST-P8)
WST-P6:  Blend of basic precipitant with organic and inorganic coagulants.
WST-P7:  Blend of basic precipitant with organic coagulants notably to facilitate settling operation.
WST-P8:  Basic inorganic precipitant blend to supplement hydroxide precipitation.

CARBAMATE BASED PRECIPITANTS: the following precipitants are formulated with sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate (DTC) as the precipitating chemistry:

CP-33Z:  Blend with coagulant and modifier for co-precipitation action.
CP-NB:  Blend with specialty reagents for removing heavily chelated nickel.
CP-PLUS: Blend with inorganic compound and catalytic additive.
CPX:   Blend with inorganic compound and additive to negate surfactant reactions.
WST-970: Blend with calcium based DTC
WST-P1:  Blend with inorganic and organic coagulants to assist clarification and microfiltration.
WST-P2:  Basic 40% sodium dimethyldithiocarbamate (DTC).
WST-P3:  Blend of WST-P1 with inorganic compound to assist precipitating tin/lead.
WST-P4:  Blend with inorganic compound for effective all around precipitation of multi-metals.
WST-P5:  Blend with inorganic compound and a combination of inorganic (2) and organic (2)  coagulants.
WST-P23: Blend with inorganic coagulant.
WST-P1TR: Blend with polythiocarbonate and polymers to aid microfiltration operations.

What’s new??
WST-2A:  a new distinct formulation of alkali salts that effectively precipitate a wide range of metals from solution over a broad pH range – from pH 3 to 14 – with extremely low hydrogen sulfide (H2S) emissions and low toxicity – 10 to 30 times less toxic that other organic precipitants (such as DTC compounds).
