Degreasing and Cleaning Products

RB Degreaser  | RB Degreaser - No Foam

WSET has formulated and manufactures pro-environment degreasers and cleaners to replace hazardous solvents in a myriad of applications. Two of these are described below:

RB DEGREASER/CLEANER: A fully aqueous base concentrated alkaline degreaser, containing no solvents, for cleaning metals and other surfaces. It is all natural and biodegradable - non-toxic and odorless. See full description below.

rbdtank

RB DEGREASER - NO FOAM: A concentrated aqueous base formulation of anionic and non-ionic surface active agents that counteract foaming (especially at elevated temperatures) while extending the useful life of the working solution and an improved cleaning range. See full description below.

BUFF CLEAN: An aqueous base cleaner for removing metallic oxide buffing compounds and other non-water soluble coatings. Contains no butyl or chlorinated solvents, or other hazardous ingredients.

RB Degreaser

RB DEGREASER (RBD) is an aqueous-based alkaline cleaner formulated to safely and quickly remove oils, grease and other soils from metal, plastic, rubber, tile, glass, cement, fabric and other hard and soft surfaces.  It is an synergistic blend of surfactants, emulsifiers, wetting agents, alkaline builders, rust and corrosion inhibitors, anti-redeposition and rinsing aids.

RBD is furnished as a high concentration cleaner which is water activated and must be dilutedto do its jobs.  By simply changing the dilution ratio, this multipurpose and multifunctional cleaner can be used for a wide variety of production and janitorial applications.  No need to stock many different solvents and cleaners.  It has a mild, non-citrus odor.

The solvent in RBD is water, which makes this cleaner inherently safe; i.e., it is NON-FLAMMABLE, NON-COMBUSTIBLE AND NON-TOXIC.  It does not contribute to ozone depletion or smog.  RB DEGREASER contains no petroleum additives, no chlorinated solvents, no halogens, no butyl, no caustic soda, no VOC's, no borates, no chlorides, no photochemicals, no ammonia and no citrus by-products.  No SARA reporting is required and RBD meets OSHA, EPA and California standards.  It is acceptable for use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants.

RBD is non-toxic and nonhazardous to workers and the environment.  It is completely biodegradable and compatible with sewer discharge requirements.

RBD is applied by soaking, dipping, wiping, brushing and spraying.  It can be used with existing cleaning equipment including ultrasonic cleaning, batch washers, pressure washers, and floor scrubbers.  It may be used cold or heated to 140ºF for improved speed.  Temperatures up to 200°F can be utilized without degradation.

The RBD working solution chemically breaks the molecular chain of hydrocarbons so that all deposits of oil, grease, carbons, and other soils embedded in the pores of any surface are emulsified into a water soluble solution and easily rinsed away.

RBD contains rust inhibitors and is not corrosive to metals.  A synergistic blend of corrosion inhibitors provides maximum metal protection during the cleaning process.  It will not harm metals including aluminum, zinc, copper, steel and brass.  Surfaces rinse squeaky clean of any film or residue and are ready for painting, plating, anodizing or packaging.

The environmental formulation includes a demulsifier which increases the active life of the cleaner and allows for easy treatment of spent solution.  Oils/Greases/Soils stay emulsified with normal agitation.  When agitation stops - complete separation occurs within 1 hour.  Fats, oils and grease rise to the surface for easy skimming and removal.

RB Degreaser - No Foam

RB DEGREASER-NO FOAM (RBD-No Foam) concentrated, heavy duty, industrial cleaner.  It is a synergistic blend of surfactants, emulsifiers, wetting agents, alkaline builders, corrosion inhibitors, anti-deposition and rinsing aids.  RBD-NO FOAM quickly lifts oils, grease and other soils from metal and other hard surfaces.  Cleaned surfaces are easily rinsed free of any film or residue and ready for painting, plating or packaging.  Maximum metal protection is provided and RBD-NO FOAM is non-corrosive to most metals including polished aluminum, zinc and brass.

HOW IT WORKS:  RBD-NO FOAM is a multi-purpose, multi-functional product which must be diluted with water before using.  The dilution ratio depends on the application.  The working solution chemically breaks the molecular chain of hydrocarbons so that all deposits of oil, grease, carbons and other soils embedded in the pores of any surface are emulsified into a water soluble solution and easily rinsed away.  The no foam feature dramatically reduces the foaming action typically associated with aqueous alkaline cleaners.  To activate this feature, the solution temperature must be 140°F minimum.  RBD-NO FOAM performs well in hard or soft water.  It has a mild, non-citrus odor.

APPLICATIONS:  RB DEGREASER-NO FOAM is an effective solvent replacement for cleaning metals and other hard surfaces such as plastics, rubber, tile and cement.  It rapidly removes oils, grease and soils as well as surface residues such as adhesives, fluxes and carbon smut.  RBD-NO FOAM is applied by soaking, spraying, dipping, wiping and brushing.  It is used in soak tanks, parts washers, pressure washers and other cleaning equipment.  Agitation increases its effectiveness.

ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES:   RB DEGREASER-NO FOAM is non-toxic, non-flammable and non-combustible.  It contains no solvents, no petroleum additives, no halogens, no caustic soda and no butyl. It is safe, easy to use and meets all OSHA and EPA standards.  RBD-NO FOAM is not hazardous to workers and the environment.  It is biodegradable and compatible with sewer discharge requirements.

The environmental formulation allows for easy treatment of spent solution.  Oils/Grease/Soils stay emulsified during normal agitation.  When agitation stops - complete separation occurs within 1/2 hour.  Fats, oils and grease rise to the surface for easy skimming and removal.
